Stretched TFT Displays for Industrial and Railway Applications

Stretched TFT displays, also known as bar-type LCD or ultra-wide TFT displays, provide a space-efficient solution where conventional display formats are unsuitable.

Ideal for railway passenger information systems, trains, digital signage and industrial equipment, these elongated displays provide clear presentation of real-time information within restricted installation spaces.

FORTEC UK offers native bar-type and cut TFT display solutions, with customisation options including optical bonding, cover glass and mechanical integration.

Our technical team supports OEMs and system integrators in selecting suitable displays for demanding applications, including railway projects with EN 50155 requirements.

Native Bar-Type vs Cut Stretched TFT Displays

Stretched TFT displays are available in two main formats:

Native Bar-Type TFT Displays – Purpose-designed with an elongated aspect ratio, offering a compact solution for railway passenger information systems, industrial control panels and digital signage.

Cut Stretched TFT Displays – Manufactured by modifying suitable standard TFT panels to create a panoramic format. These offer greater flexibility in display dimensions and can provide a cost-effective solution for specialist applications.

FORTEC UK supports engineers in selecting the most suitable technology based on display size, resolution, brightness, operating environment and long-term availability.
